Max is TWO!

Holy cow, Max is two!  Hard to believe that my wild child is already two!  I was already home on maternity leave, so Pat took the day off and we celebrated all day!  The morning started with dentist appointments for both Leah and Max, so Leah joined us for the day, too!  We headed down to the Krohn Conservatory and enjoyed the butterfly display.  Leah and Max first cut and colored paper butterflies and then we headed into a large, enclosed garden with hundreds of butterflies flying all around.  Max had a great time running around trying to catch the butterflies.  The butterflies would even land on people - several people were walking around with butterflies in their hair!  I had a few attached to my back and my leg!

Afterwards, we headed home for birthday cake and gifts.  The theme for Max this year was "all things ball" - he received golf clubs, a basketball hoop and t-ball set.  Leah picked out some nice trucks for the sandbox and Noah gave Max a new Lightning McQueen.
Tried a new egg-free cake recipe from the Food Allergy Mama Cookbook - yum!

About a week and a half later we had Max's birthday party with family and a few friends.  We started with a birthday dinner Friday night at Dewey's - Max's favorite restaurant.  That boy can really eat pizza!  And of course we had to go next door to Graeter's for some dessert.  Cousin Addison came down with my parents, Memaw and Hippa, so Leah and Max really enjoyed having her in town for some fun!  After dinner and dessert we went home and Nana, Grandma and Grandpa Naylor had arrived in town.

Saturday was Max's party and everyone had a good time.  Everyone just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company.  Max was hilarious opening his gifts, especially his gift from Memaw and Hippa - a huge gift bag full of clothes.  Max pulled out clothes and threw them on the ground so fast you would have thought there was gold at the bottom - I wish I had that on video!  It was a perfect birthday celebration!

Another new egg-free recipe from the Food Allergy Mama - must have been a good one!
