Catching Up

It's been awhile, I guess I have just been too busy! But we have been enjoying the end of winter and the start of spring, however it looks like winter is trying hard to stay around for a few more days. After last week being in the 70s for a few days, this past week has gotten cold and there is even snow in the forecast!

Two weeks ago my parents came down for a weekend visit - and to babysit! My mom and I spent Saturday morning getting pedicures, and then Pat and I headed to Columbus for the night. Leah and Max spent the rest of the weekend hanging out with Memaw and Hippa - going out for dinner, painting nails and working on holding a bottle! Max is getting to be very mobile - now crawling on his knees - that he seems to be getting into a lot more trouble these days. He even spent a turn in the 'time out basket'.Pat and I were in Columbus for 'Beerfest', a gathering that we had started a few years ago among our friends. Everyone brings a six-pack of beer and we do a tasting. We rate and judge (such as color, aroma, and of course taste) and the winner is award with the Champion Mug. Pat was the returning champ, however he lost to Natalie and Jenny. He hopes to reclaim the mug this summer. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any pictures of the fun night. The following weekend Pat's parents were in town and were able to keep Leah and Max home for a few days instead of going to the sitter. They spent St. Patty's day with us - we went to dinner and had our annual green beer, however Leah and Max were not cooperative for pictures.. Leah made cookies and both Leah and Max were able to go for a stroll enjoying the awesome weather. And it was nice to enjoy lazy mornings rather than waking up early and rushing out the door. We rounded out the weekend with the seasonal opening of Flubs. And it was delicious. We are now able to start up our weekly trips to the west side of Hamilton for a tasty treat!

Hudson

Last weekend the Naylor clan headed north to Hudson, which is southeast of Cleveland, to visit our good friends Natalie and Sean. Saturday we spent the morning/early afternoon having lunch and shopping in Hudson. We had a yummy lunch at Dave's Cosmic Subs, a scary time in a 'children's toy store' (we don't think it was really a children's store - the worker was a bit creepy and there appeared to be another interesting business upstairs) and a fun time in a real children's store, The Little Red Wagon. We left there with some 'Leah' stickers - all of the stickers have her name, some boats for the tub for Max and of course Pat found something that he can supposedly use in his classroom. We then tried to go to M Street Cupcakes for dessert, but unfortunately they were already sold out! Leah and Max were growing tired, so Natalie and I took the kids home for a nap and the boys had some 'errands' to run - translation - having a few drinks at a few different bars at KSU. Natalie and I had a great time catching up, and just as Leah and Max were waking up, the boys were finished with their 'errands.' It was then pasta-making time! Natalie taught us how to make spaghetti from scratch, and Leah was the little helper. It was delicious! Max continued to impress all by crawling around the entire first floor and finding any wire possible - even the hidden ones! The 'Godfather' was great at keeping tabs on the little guy. It was a fabulous trip and we can't wait for the Tobins to make their trip south to Cincinnati in June!
